UX Designer for Web and Mobile in NYC

Orgill Hardware

The case study for Orgill Hardware. Completed while working at the Born Group.

Orgill Hardware

Orgill is a wholesale hardware company that serves as a one-stop destination for retailers in the hardware industry. With a comprehensive catalog of products ranging from tools and equipment to home improvement supplies, Orgill caters to small and medium size hardware stores.

Orgill was interested in creating a headless e-commerce platform with three different tiers based on the hardware stores needs. The main challenge was to create a design that could fulfill all the needs of their clients at different tiers and also have it work on the mobile web.

A Robust Listing

of Products

Managing thousands of diverse products that dynamically adjust based on the dealer accessing the site posed a multifaceted challenge for Orgill. With three distinct tiers to consider, we undertook the task of implementing a robust filtering system to streamline product navigation. From grills to square nuts, each product demanded meticulous attention to detail, encompassing both image representation and textual descriptions. Our solution effectively addressed these complexities, ensuring comprehensive product visibility and accessibility tailored to Orgill's varied clientele.

A Customizable Homepage

To effectively cater to Orgill's diverse customer base, we undertook the strategic design and development of a website featuring configurable components. These components were meticulously designed to offer unparalleled flexibility, ensuring adaptability to varying customer requirements.

Quotes and Checkout

rgill presented us with a distinctive challenge: devising a quote system that caters to customers without an online checkout process, while also seamlessly integrating a checkout process for those who do. Additionally, the solution necessitated the creation of designs optimized for both desktop and mobile web interfaces. Through design iterations and strategic implementation, we successfully devised a solution that harmonized these disparate requirements, providing a seamless user experience across platforms while fulfilling the diverse needs of Orgill's clientele.
